Karen Kinzett & Karebear
Hi! I'm Karen Kinzett and I have been breeding, working and showing this wonderful breed since 1984. The fact that I admire the wolf pack with all their beauty, grace, and a complete loving family that survives in the wild, it is no wonder that the Alaskan Malamute is my chosen breed. It inspires me to work at trying to preserve all the good qualities in the breed. This is my calling, this is my home AND this is my life!
First, it is absolutely mandatory to certify all breeding animals for Hips
Eyes and CHD.
Second, I believe since we as breeders are selling most of our dogs
to families for pets and for recreational fun, such as sledding, skijoring, obedience and agility work, we should try our best to produce well-balanced dogs both in temperament and health including structure. I have never cared for weight pulling and would ask that none of my puppies ever become weight pullers. If you want to move heavy weights, please get a tractor!
If you really want to get to know the breeder of your new family member, then
take the time to go to the breeder's home and see how they take care of their dogs. Do
you think the breeders dogs should be treated or live any different than the life you
plan to give the new member of your family?......the answer should be NO!!!!!
Why do many breeders have their dogs living in kennels, behind fencing for their whole
lives, or until the breeder is done with them and then sells them to families to finally,
hopefully, be loved and appreciated? The breeders chose those dogs as their picks and now
those dogs live behind bars.......Hello!....Sorry!.....Not at my place! This has never happened,
and it never will in my life time. I do not sell my older dogs off when they are finished being bred,
often by the early age of 5 years. They are part of my family and I do not throw away
my family members!
When I have a litter you are welcome to come as often as you would like to share in the
early growth stages of the puppies. I actually require it, unless you live too far away for
visiting, like in another province or country.
I believe in feeding the very best food that I can possibly afford, with supplements
and real cooked fish and meat at least twice a day.
My dogs live in my home as family members. I have chosen to share my life with them and to treat them as equals, as they
deserve. The outside play yards are cleaned every day and their water is changed twice a day. I believe this to be the only way to treat animals and, if your breeder treats them differently, I disagree.
My motto is:
Treat your dog as you wish to be treated yourself ... nothing more or less.
Please stand up for our beloved breed and speak up when you see our Alaskan Malamutes treated unfairly, as they
deserve nothing but the BEST!!!
I am a reputable breeder and member in good standing with the Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada (AMCC) and the
Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). I breed healthy and happy purebred Alaskan Malamutes for home, work and show.
All of my dogs and puppies are registered with the CKC. I have worked hard over the years to produce healthy,
beautiful, dogs with the most wonderful temperaments.
Please take a moment to enjoy my website and browse through the photos I have posted over the years in the
Photo Gallery. Also, please visit my References page to read about experiences Kinartic families have had with
my dogs and my kennel.
Please feel free to email me regarding information about my Malamutes, or if you would like to make an appointment
for a kennel visit. I am always pleased to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
